Paul Etgart - Managing Director

Paul is Retail Innovations Principal Consultant and joined in July 2006 following the acquisition of Retail Planning Innovations. Paul founded RPI following a 30 year career at Tesco where he was Director of Planning & Design.

At Tesco, Paul and his team conceived and developed store formats like Tesco Metro and Express and continually refined the core outlets, driving down costs and lead times and changing the face of British supermarkets.

His role as one of the key players in driving Tesco to the position of number one retailer in the UK makes him unique in the world of consultancy. Terry Leahy, current CEO of Tesco says: “Paul has a vast knowledge of the world of design in the field of food retailing and has the power of original thought in a creative environment”.
