Rod is
an expert in commercial trading & procurement. He has over 30 years experience
in negotiating, supplier strategy & business/category development with leading
FMCG companies, both in the UK & internationally. Multiple retailing with Tesco
& J Sainsbury & food manufacturing with Rowntree Mackintosh ( Nestle).
At Tesco, Rod set up the Corporate Purchasing Dept which now buys all goods for internal consumption & store development working closely with the business teams. His team identified £90m worth of annualised savings in its first 2 years.
As Deputy CEO & Commercial Director for Tesco Poland he set up the Commercial Trading Division developing a 70 strong local team who delivered the most Innovative & competitive range in the country.
In his last 2 years at Tesco Rod led a new fruit & horticulture category team to deliver 2 year sales growth of 26% to over £1bn.
Rod is an innovative trader & commercial manager with 1st class organisational & interpersonal skills.
